OP 10 BEST NEW Upcoming Games 2022 & 2023 (4K 60FPS) ![]() © Post "Nuclear Winter tips, from a “terrible at PvP” PvE’er" for game Fallout. This wouldn't be such a big issue if we hadn't… (It's not as effective as people claim it is, but it does the job.)Īs most people who watch or test the latest changes on the PTR have already said, ZoS has once again had a kneejerk reaction and (in my opinion) overcorrected on DoT damage reducing their damage by far too much and causing another big meta shift. You can also run Grenadier (PER 3) + Demolition Expert (INT 3) if you want to hop around and spam the M79 Grenade launcher. Other notable mentions: Master Heavy Gunner (STR 3), Ground Pounder (PER 3), Master Rifleman (PER 3), and Dodgy (AGL 6). (Conversely, once taken you'll find all sorts of great new places to hide!)īloody Mess (LUCK 9): 15% bonus damage in all situations was a no-brainer to me. And until you do, too, you'll feel like a fat kid on an obstacle course trying to get around. ![]() Experiment to find which one works better for you.įrog Legs (AGL 9): Everyone takes it. You can manage without one of these cards, but I've found it really tedious. Marathoner or Action Boy/Girl (AGL 1): You have WAY less AP in NW than in adventure mode. An alternative if you want to focus on surviving over fighting (or don't want to eat 9 CHA) is Field Medic for only 6 CHA. Tenderizer (CHA 9): The high investment in CHA is rough, but enemies taking 20% more damage from every source is fantastic. (And you're not wearing Power Armor anyway.) Ironclad (END 3): I prefer this over Lifegiver simply because over the long term it'll keep you alive better. Tank Killer (PER 6): Since you're using rifles, why not ignore 40% armor? They're also good for "spray-and-pray" if you're not a good shot. Master Commando (PER 3): Automatic rifles are the most prolific guns in NW. You need new perk cards coming in as fast as possible when you first start out, and they're almost always easy to achieve.Įveryone has their preferred build, so I'm just going to share mine and hope others add their own comments. Just like in Adventure mode, they're sub-optimal compared to rifles and heavy weapons.ĭon't forget the daily tasks. The protection isn't much better than Marine Armor, and it's large, noisy, and shakes the ground when you sprint/jump, which throws off your (and your team's) aim. It's a bright shade of blue that will stick out everywhere.įorget Power Armor. For that matter: toss the default Vault suit as soon as you can. If you're running around in a giant Vault-Boy head and Tricentennial Patriot suit, you'd better have a fast trigger finger. These maps are all greens, browns, and greys. People that sprint everywhere are either rookies about to get shot, or experienced PvPers who are much better at aiming than you are. That will help you know when and where to run, hide, or fight.Īnd speaking of noise… Don't sprint everywhere. Seriously: walking and sprinting are easy to hear, and you can tell what direction gunfire is coming from. And when running from a fight, don't run in a straight line. Practice juking (side-to-side movement) and shooting, too. Don't crouch (unless you're sniping an unaware target). Most of your XP comes from just surviving, so the longer you can avoid contact, the better. This gives you two useful bits of information: (1) you'll see who spawns near you, and (2) you'll learn where people tend to bunch up at spawn, and start avoiding those areas. ![]() Pay attention to the map and see where people spawn in at match start. GENERAL RULES TO LIVE (or die more slowly) BY: Below are some tips I've personally found have greatly improved my survival chances in Vault 51. Well, as someone who has the twitch reflexes of a corpse, let me tell you: you can make it work. Hey folks! I know a lot of my fellow PvE'ers have been curious to try their hand at NW to get those cosmetic unlocks, but have stayed away because they've heard it was a hacker-ridden bugfest, or because they're bad at (or hate) PvP.
